Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1.) Feeling a bit grim today, think I’m very tired and dehydrated, definitely haven’t drank enough, must get back to being good with drinking water 2.) Trying to steady the nerves for upcoming interview but the prospect of a presentation is very daunting 3.) Had a session with a patient today that r...

Re: which MSc?

Who’s telling you it’s not academically vigorous? I found it pretty intense! I did mine full time in one year but via distance learning which worked well for me as I carried on working full time. You need to find somewhere to do your placement which you don’t get much help with, placement needs to b...

Re: which MSc?

I did the MSc at QMUL. I really enjoyed the course but I’m not sure how much use it would be if you’re mainly interested in doing research. The research component was fairly small and the dissertation was a systematic review rather than original research. I would think you’d be better of doing a mas...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

Oh my goodness congratulations on the cat lingua! Oh and the whole potential home ownership thing ha! 1.) I keep mulling over my interview and it’s exceptionally irritating - keep trying to let it go and move forward 2.) The waiting game is the worst 3.) So good to see both a friend I haven’t seen i...

Re: Problems with the Forum

It definitely seems to have fixed the problem here too! In the last few days every time I visit the forum it’s working whereas before it seemed to be broken nearly every time, so looks like the Russian bot was to blame :)

Problems with the Forum

I’ve noticed in the last week or so that the forum seems to be down a lot, or more often than not at least when I check the forum. Is everyone else having the same problem? I hope there’s no big issues going on with servers / other technical problems, is it to do with increased traffic because of th...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1.) This week has been so busy I feel like I’ve hardly had time to breathe, things that should be fun have become a disorganised stressful mess! 2.) I feel like there’s a lot on my shoulders at the minute and it’s only going to get worse going forward, I think the pressure is all coming from me and ...

Re: How to improve academic on application

It sounds like you have good experience, I would look at another AP role in a different population or a RA job where you can develop your research skills. I wouldn’t think you’d need anything else academic but if it’s something you’d really enjoy then go for it!

Re: Written essay questions on interview day- Advice please!

I cheat a little bit in my structuring of essays in exams in that I usually leave the introduction until last! So what I do is I’ll write a plan of the essay including roughly what I’ll talk about in each paragraph then I’ll start writing the introduction but leave a big space and continue with the ...

Haha I got an email invite from Birmingham and it still hasn’t changed, I think I’ve read the email about 30 times just in case
