Probation period

Hi all I'm just wondering if the doctorate is subject to a probation period the same way a normal job is? Or do the assessments negate the need to have an official probationary period? Wasn't sure whether to put this in here or employment issues so mods please feel free to move it if you feel it wou...

Re: Newcastle 2014

Hey guys, Has anyone heard anything else from Newcastle yet? I'd emailed last week to see when we'd be starting (15th Sept by the way) and they said they would be sending some info out at the end of last week, provisional timetables etc, but I've not received anything yet. Has anyone received this i...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

On the clearing house my Newcastle has changed to pending result. Surely this must mean it's close?? How long does it usually take to change from pending to an answer?? I don't know how helpful this is but my status changed for Salomons yesterday and it's JUST changed now to 'offer'... might be wor...

Re: Discussing cases - interview question advice

Hi bubby When I've answered these questions I've given a very brief overview of the case, like the main presenting problems and any other really important info that might be relevant for why you worked in a particular way. I'd maybe mention if I was using a particular model, so something along the l...

Re: Reserve List for Interviews 2014

I emailed Teesside and she's just got back to me to say they have offered 3 reserves interviews so far. As they start Monday I'd be suprised if it moves much more unfortunately.

Re: Relocating to West Midlands - Where's good to live?

What about Leamington spa? It's where a lot of the Warwick students live but has quite a lot of young professionals there too.

Re: Posting documents

Did you apply last year? Just because a few people who applied last year (myself included) had the documents duplicated in the end of the form when downloading it and when looking at the documents box, so this may have something to do with it perhaps? If it were me I would send my undergrad transcri...

Re: Problems with uploading documents

Hi Randall Mine also had two copies of the transcript and GBC letter but I've submitted it anyway, better for them to have it twice then not at all. I had a few problems last year with documents (they didn't think I'd uploaded the GBC stuff when I had) and the clearing house contacted me and were re...
