Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2016

I also just wanted to say congrats to everyone who applied this year. I have not yet applied and I am waiting for the elusive 'right moment'. I may apply this year but I know it takes a lot of courage to take that step with the knowledge that many people don't get through. :| I hope I am as gracious...

Re: Bored?

You're right, I am privileged to be employed at all considering the current climate. However, my interpretation of your post is that we should 'just' work and earn money to pay rent/food/bills because you are implying that work is 'just' something we do...but where in all that is passion? passion fo...

Bored?

03/11/2015 - Some Thoughts I am starting to get that feeling again….a feeling that I struggle to name. I was surprised at myself for doing something which I did not think I would ever do again. I started to browse Clin Psy forum* again. Something I have not done for a while. The last time I browsed ...

Re: MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care 2015

Hi Everyone

I got an invite for an interview on the 8th also but I have had to turn it down as I have accepted another job offer. So there may be another space available for an interview.

Re: WOW AP posts really are not listed for long!!

For me, I know this forum is specifically for the psychology-minded so I don't generally apply to the posts advertised because I assume that there will be a high volume of applicants and I don't think I can compete with them. I generally apply to posts on NHS or BPS with my rose-tinted glasses on an...

Re: MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care 2015

I did mine in a similar format to the supporting information section of my NHS applications but as this is my first application I can't really say whether this is the right way of doing it. Also, I didn't see much guidance on what is needed in the personal statement bit.

Re: Applying for 2015

I am also hoping to apply. It will be my first application. I have been putting it off due to feeling inadequate in comparison with others but have been following the threads for a couple of years now and I feel ready to do my first application.

Re: A psychologist's opinion of clinical psychology

It makes me laugh that people, including myself, can become defensive so quickly. Sometimes we, again including myself, need to take a step back and have a breather. In both my professional and personal life I come across critics of psychologists almost daily and if I did not laugh then I would cry ...

Re: A psychologist's opinion of clinical psychology

Something that I have across whilst reading posts on this forum is that people generally get their backs up pretty quickly when someone appears to be 'dissing' Clin Psy. Understandable as it is a Clin Psy forum but it does make me laugh. I hope to become a Clinical Psych but I also hope that this ca...

Halifax PWP Trainee Interview

Hi I was wondering whether anyone went to the interview for the role of PWP Trainee in Halifax? I had my interview on 30/06/14 and was told that we would hear back early the following week but I have not heard anything. I take this to mean that I was not successful but was looking to get some feedba...

Re: Interview help

Just wanted to say that I am also a bit daunted by the Reading interview/s. It will be my first interview for a trainee PWP role. I am just going to go in with no expectations and use it as interview experience (hopefully this belief will help me keep my nerves down!).

See you there and Good Luck!
