Re: Turned down interviews

Hello, This is my first year applying so I'm just wondering what people's experiences have been in previous years with reserve lists? I am on reserve for both Royal Holloway (#1 choice) and Edinburgh which I understand to be the last to hold interviews - does the reserve list for such courses gener...

Re: Disability in the media

Thank you for reopening this Miriam, I found it a really interesting discussion To add my own experience; after I was diagnosed with epilepsy (I had a lot of seizures before my current medication was started) a friend (who was a medical student and is now a doctor...) said to me: 'God, I don't know ...

Group programmes in CMHTs

Hi, I work as an assistant in a CMHT and we are currently looking into developing a new group programme. I was just wondering if anybody who works/has worked in CMHTs could give any insight into groups that they have run? We are in the very early stages of this and it would be really useful to get a...

Re: University of East London online test

Thankyou so much everyone for sharing your experiences - I came out feeling exactly the same way, that it had not been at all what I was expecting and that I wasn't able to show myself to my best, particularly in regards to who I am and my values and how they would fit with the course! Its nice to k...

Re: Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Interview

I didn't accept the APWP post that I interviewed for in the end so I can't say for sure what it may have gone on to involve, but it sounded in the interview like it would be doing assessments but not intervention work. The job description for the one that bluegoat posted does mention groups and "pro...

Re: Looking for unusual advice about my career

Hi bunnies As someone else without a car (I'm unable to drive for medical reasons) I just wanted to say that I completely understand your concerns and frustrations about poor public transport and the high cost of commuting into London. A few practical ideas: - I lived in nursing accommodation whilst...

Re: Assistant Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Interview

Hi natalie777, I can't help with the report part - the only time I've been asked to write a report as part of an interview process was for a neuropsych report which wouldn't be fitting for an IAPT service. But I have interviewed for an assistant PWP post before which involved a role play of an initi...

Re: Position on reserve list?

I would have read it that your position is between 1 and 40 on the reserve list and the reserve list is 60 places long. That's how I'd originally interpreted it - I was told '30 (up to 40) out of 60' so thought that meant somewhere between 30 and 40, but that doesn't seem to make sense now given th...

Great idea for a thread! I am on two reserve lists so will be watching this like a hawk, any updates on UCL or RHUL would be massively appreciated!

Re: Job prospectus GMHW

Hi smiley91, I was lucky enough to get an AP post straight after but this probably wasn't the norm. Of the people I know of, some are still in GMHW roles, a few worked as GMHWs for a while but then got AP posts. A LOT seem to have gone on to become PWPs (some got trainee PWP posts whilst others were...
