Re: Experiences as a High Intensity Therapist

Hi there, There's a great wiki post in the wiki section titled 'a week in the life of a CBT Therapist/HIT' or something similar to that which is an excellent summary of the typical week as a HIT, but just to give you my two pence - I was a PWP for about 4 years before doing the HIT training and i've...

Re: WATS refund

Can anyone explain this 15k rule as I've heard if you earn over this amount your not eligible but clearly trainee PWPs, HITs and Clin Psychs are getting much more above that and some still get refunded but some don't, I'm so confused :s

Re: PWP Training Now available without a degree

I think it's an excellent idea but it comes with pro's and con's - although I do feel the pro's outweigh the con's in the long term for IAPT - you will always need a mixture of graduates and non-grads. I am going to be making some big assumptions based on my own experience as an ex-PWP, however I ha...

Re: What kind of experiences needed before applying to IAPG?

Hi there, Have you looked through the forum yet? The only reason I ask is because this is probably one of the most frequently asked questions so you will have plenty of information if you look back at the past pages - also check out the 'wiki' section. If you want to get onto the PWP course you will...

Re: PWP looking for telephone work from home

Hi there, I think the easiest way to do this would be through an agency by registering with them as a qualified PWP and telling them that you want to work from home doing assessments - I did see a job advertised once which basically was doing assessments from home and only popping in to get your lap...

Ieso digital

For all of you High Intensity / CBT therapists out there, I'm wondering whether any of you have worked for IESO offering online CBT?

If so how did you find it and would you recommend to others?

Re: Disparity in caseloads/supervision

My service puts more pressure on HITs to make clinical hours than PWPs as most of them have left and the HIT waiting list is... 1 year (we are one of the worst performing in the country)

Re: Hi IAPT trainee position

Your welcome, oh and if both the course and placement is funded you won't have a problem at all - I highly doubt any IAPT service would turn down a free trainee CBT Therapist for a year - yeah certainly keep a look out for Midlands and the surrounding areas. All the best for now ☺️

Re: Hi IAPT trainee position

It sounds like you are in an awkward position as you may pass the University hurdle but you also need to find an IAPT service that is willing to let you practice CBT. Most places around the country interview you for both an IAPT service, and the interview usually has a representative from the Univer...

Re: Becoming a high intensity therapist

Hi Keira, To be honest I don't think you need much advice as you seem to already know two routes into the position which is great. Me personally I took the pwp route but it did take me a good 4-5 years experience as a PWP and a number of attempts at HIT interviews before I got there so it does take ...

Re: Escaping IAPT

This thread is such a relief to me! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that feels like this! Are there any particular courses that would favour a CBT therapist with BABCP accreditation? I know Bath clin psy course is big on CBT as it's lead by Paul Salkovskis, any others?? Also, can being a HIT g...
