Re: Apply for a CAAP course or chance my luck with DClinPsy or NES Stage 2?

Hi Miriam, No problem glad it was helpful! I have copied and pasted the extractions from the course descriptors on the Clearing House which mention it: University of Edinburgh "Recognition of prior learning (RPL) will be applied for candidates who have completed the MSc in Applied Psychology fo...

Re: Apply for a CAAP course or chance my luck with DClinPsy or NES Stage 2?

Hey 😊 I completed the Adult CAAP course in 2019 and will be starting the DClin at Edinburgh Uni come September this year. I'm more than happy to reflect some of my thoughts on what’s been discussed: - So, if you were to take the CAAP route (either Child/Adult) then you’re right in saying that you wo...

How many words is the Doctoral application personal statement?

Hi everyone, I have a direct question I am hoping someone can answer for me. On the application with the question, "In what way have your work and/or research experiences made you a better candidate for training in clinical psychology?" - It says that it's 3,000 characters. I have tried co...

Re: CAAP - Dundee / stirling

Hi there :) Current trainee just about to finish up! I think it's great that your thinking of applying to the programme as it is very valuable with regards to the depth of clinical and research competencies you gain throughout. I was based in GG&C, so I would get reimbursed for accommodation/mea...

Re: Msc in psychological therapies in Primary care

Hi Jamie, Thanks for letting us know, hopefully it is sooner rather than later! It was a very different style interview to what I have been used to so definitely easy to criticise! Have you enjoy training so far? Yes it’s been a really interesting (and very quick) year with both what you learn on c...

Re: Msc in psychological therapies in Primary care

Hi guys (current trainee here), Well done to those of you that interviewed! Just to say if similar to last year, you'll likely find out mon-weds next week if all goes right I imagine. Very easy to criticise your performance in the interview but you can never be too certain with these things, so try ...

Re: MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care 2019

Yeah I agree with the questions being specific - although I managed to ramble on too long cause at the end they said they wouldn’t let me ask them questions as they were pushed for time 🙈whoops hahah.

Hopefully it’s early next week the waiting is torturing me 😂

Re: MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care 2019

I was the exact same with info dumping! I sometimes answered the next question unwittingly  My three choices were Glasgow, Lanarkshire, and Forth Valley. I know they said by end of next week but does anyone know when previous years got the emails through? Just want to know now! :P Yeah, Karen a...

Re: MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care 2019

I had mines on Tuesday and thought it was alright! Panel were really friendly and Karen and will we’re great to talk to at the beginning - Defos helped the nerves! Who did everyone get interviewed by? I had Stirling and Dundee reps, and reps from Glasgow and forth valley. I just wish they would let ...

Re: MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care 2019

If I'm honest I'm not entirely sure... Although my impressions are is that Karen (course admin) is doing the emails one by one to each person as opposed to a standard send-out so may well possibly be till tomorrow. I suppose the only way to find out is pop an email over to her tomorrow morning, may ...
