Re: Let's talk about money

I'm an Research Assistant without a phd although I have seen higher paid Research Assistant jobs that require a phd, I think mainly because the role itself is different from a Research Associate but still requires skills in a specific field. Missmoo have you thought about training as a Psychological...

Re: Training as a Forensic Psych

Yes the more I think about it the more I think it's necessary to stick to one site/supervisor. The Stage 2 is far from a tick box process as it's the equivalent of a doctorate so requires the submission of work to the BPS to demonstrate core competencies including exemplars, a practice diary, a comp...

Re: Training as a Forensic Psych

Thank you! Yes I agree I don't think 40 miles is outrageous, I'm just thinking more long term because although Stage 2 is technically 2 years supervised practice I understand it can take a lot longer! So if a trainee role came up near me can someone who's already a trainee apply/ transfer?

Re: Interview written activity

Not sure if this helps but looking over research might be useful as I know someone who was given an abstract of a paper for a task and asked various questions on it i.e practice reflective and critical thinking!

Re: assistant psychologist v research assistant

I have just accepted an AP post, coming from my 2 myear job as a RA even though I will be taking a pay cut! Re: Are Interventions jobs at HMPPS changing their recruitment process?

Hi NotReally, I had an interview in Feb and was asked to do a presentation- I got really good feedback although I didn't get the job this time, so I hope they don't change it! How did your interview go? I found the competency questions difficult!

I have completed my Bsc in Psychology and MSc in Forensic Psychology, and I am currently working as a Research Assistant on the evaluation of a new intervention for offenders. Previously, I have been a HCA on PICU ...

Hi Lanapleurodon

Just wondering if you managed to progress and get placed in a role? I have my first facilitator interview next week so I'm trying to get advice from people who have been through the process!

Re: Facilitator intervention jobs

Hiya Hoping for some advice on the facilitator interview, I'm so nervous! Mainly because I've got very little information, all I know is that it's inside the prison and that my slot is an hour long but there's no mention of having to do a presentation or role play like other people have experienced ...
