A lot of AP roles (especially within the NHS) are fixed term contracts for 12 months. I've known people who have had that contract renewed and have stayed in one role for several years but as a rule most of the other Assistants I know tend to move on at the end of their contract to try and gain more...

Having looked at previous years' progress threads I think the mystery of the disappearing boxes is fairly common. As far as I can tell it doesn't mean anything particularly good or bad, just that they're looking at your application maybe so you can't withdraw it? Either way I don't think its anythin...

For the Lancaster selection tests everyone who applies is invited to take the tests so I would definitely recommend revising if you've applied there, just to get an idea of the format of the tests if nothing else.

I've had a similar problem with one of my referees. I spoke to the clearing house and they said not to worry too much, applications are always released in batches if your reference is late you'll just be released in a later batch. I'd try just giving your current referee a gentle nudge and reminding...
