Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread

Will this be reposted for this years entry? :) We put up the progress thread on the first day people hear back from a course about interviews. Assessment tests are given to most applicants, so we have never tracked being invited to those. Lots of courses have already released interview invites incl...

Re: UEL/Surrey/Salomans assessment day

The written task was 45 minutes last year Hi there, This is really helpful to know, thanks for your comment! With regards to the written test, do you know how long we have to complete this part of the task? Thanks! Hey, As you've not sat the Saloman's & Surrey tests before, please hold in mind that ...

Re: 2020 Doctorate Applications

The applications are still being released to the universities until the end of January. Those with shortlisting tests usually contact at the beginning of Feb to invite you or not to the test and then others you will hear from between end of Feb and mid March. Check the link below for more info: http...

Stuck with doctorate course choices!? RHUL/IoPPN/Herts/Essex

Hi all, I wondered if any current or past trainees may be able to help. I am currently stuck on what courses to apply to, I have picked two which I am happy with and need to pick two more. Now I cannot decide between RHUL, IoPPN, Herts and Essex. I have read through the alternative handbooks for the...

Re: University of Surrey 2020 Entry: Online Q&A

Hello, I wonder if you're able to give any advice as to what Surrey are looking for in the personal interview? Also, do Surrey use the application form at any point in shortlisting, other than to ensure that candidates meet the minimum entry requirements? Thank you! Hi Nicoleks, I don't think anyon...

Re: Time to Give Up? *sad face*

I wonder if maybe you need some help with you supporting statement/application as it sounds like you have valuable experience! Do you know anyone in psychology who is able to proof read or assist you with this?

Assistant psychologist - how long do you stay in one role?

Hi all,

I’m intrigued as to how long on average people tend to stay in one assistant psychologist role before moving on to another?

Any experiences and thoughts welcome.

Re: Rejected 5 times, am I overreacting?

I'm so sorry to hear this Kakasek - it must feel so demotivating and rejecting. Have you got any more interviews coming up? Did you get any feedback from Exeter this year? Perhaps it might be worth having some mock interview practice or training from psychologists? I know it's not the same but I'm o...

Re: Pre-interview tests UEL/Salomons

Just had an email to say they are not going to use the STJ data for the shortlisting process, this is a shame because that was the only bit I thought went okay! Yeh, it's a shame that they couldn't have scrapped the written test :| That was the one that went badly for me. I wonder what the differen...

Re: Pre-interview tests UEL/Salomons

Unsure whether I can ask this, but any tips on surreys written task (not the stats MCQ or situational judgement) - they've moved it from interview phase to being pre-interview test- I never got the hang of it at last 2 interview phases. Any tips? Hi Tabitha, what did the written task entail previou...
