Re: Rejected 5 times, am I overreacting?

I'm so sorry to hear this Kakasek - it must feel so demotivating and rejecting. Have you got any more interviews coming up? Did you get any feedback from Exeter this year? Perhaps it might be worth having some mock interview practice or training from psychologists? I know it's not the same but I'm o...

Re: Pre-interview tests UEL/Salomons

Just had an email to say they are not going to use the STJ data for the shortlisting process, this is a shame because that was the only bit I thought went okay! Yeh, it's a shame that they couldn't have scrapped the written test :| That was the one that went badly for me. I wonder what the differen...

How do people feel about the tests tomorrow?
Very nervous! Especially as the one last year was so hard. What about you?

Re: Pre-interview tests UEL/Salomons

Unsure whether I can ask this, but any tips on surreys written task (not the stats MCQ or situational judgement) - they've moved it from interview phase to being pre-interview test- I never got the hang of it at last 2 interview phases. Any tips? Hi Tabitha, what did the written task entail previou...

Re: Pre-interview tests UEL/Salomons

Does anyone know how the courses actually pick individuals for interview based on test scores, because i'm sure out of approx. 500-600 people sitting the test there will be a high percentage who achieve the same score? Do they use personal statements as well?

Does anyone know when we might hear from Surrey with an invitation to sit the tests? It seems from previous years not much notice is given?
I heard from UEL today with a test invite. Haven’t heard from Surrey yet so assume they will let us know next week.

AP role with community LD team

Hi,

I am very soon to start a role as an AP within a community adult LD team and wondered if anyone had any experience of this and how they found it? What kind of things did you get to do?

Hope to hear some experiences :)

Re: Pre-interview tests UEL/Salomons

I would really appreciate any advice on the MCQ and written tests also. Does anyone have any good links to resources to revise the material. I saw a book recommended on this forum 'How to Design and Report Experiments by Andy Field and Graham Hole'. But this was quite a while ago so not sure if thi...

Re: Reserve following Interview for AP roles

I'm curious, how did you improve at this so much? I'm currently 0-for-9 in assistant psychologist interviews, but I've never been told that I came particularly close so I'm not really sure what to do (other than just repeatedly practicing and trying to analyse my weaknesses, neither of which seem t...

Re: Reserve following Interview for AP roles

I am very poor at interviews and always used to be told I am not selling myself so I am pleased I’m getting further. I'm curious, how did you improve at this so much? I'm currently 0-for-9 in assistant psychologist interviews, but I've never been told that I came particularly close so I'm not reall...

AP Interview Feedback from Employer?

Hi all, Wonder if anyone can help with a couple of questions I have about employers notifying candidates of outcome following interview (particularly AP ones): 1. Usually an employer says you will hear later today or tomorrow, does that mean that the successful candidates will be notified on the day...

Re: Rejections

I have this exact difficulty. I am already an AP and still struggling to get a new post.. always being placed on reserve or being told I was very close second. It's so competitive.

Good luck with the doctorate application.
