Re: ClinPsy forum wants you!

Maven- have almost finished an updated version of week in life of LI IAPT worker do you want me to post it in this thread as a quote to copy and paste or would you prefer me to do something different with it? Also wondering if the title could be amended to include PWP as that may be the term people ...

Yes I am. Also planning to use the trip to have a look round at possible places to live and see a bit more of the area than I took in at interview!

Re: Jordan Peterson - why do practitioners not like him?

So I do agree with Ell on this. I also see a parallel with current U.K. politics (sorry...but I think it illustrates the point quite well). It is possible for me to simultaneously disagree with everything Nigel Farage says and yet acknowledge he is a very successful politician. I am interested in wh...

Re: Trainee PWP interview - Kaleidoscope Plus Group

Hi Ny95 To expand on Lakeland’s advice (and I’ve never done a written task in an interview so couldn’t be more specific even if I wanted to!) I have found in all psychology related interviews that having a few examples (either from previous jobs or from personal life) that I’ve really thought about ...

Re: Part time work as an AP and PWP

Sorry forgot to answer the bit about salary! Yes there was an impact. As a qualified pwp I was band 5, the assistant job was band 4 ( and to be honest I think that represented the differing levels of responsibility involved). I was lucky in getting on to the doctorate first go so the hit was only fo...

Re: Part time work as an AP and PWP

I did exactly this and it was the most valuable 6 months of experience I had- but also by far the most intense. Useful because I got supervision from a CP (which was invaluable) but also I learned about options other than CBT (the service was very dbt oriented and trained all their AP’s in dbt) and ...

Re: Issues with Diversity in Clin Psy Trainees Recruitment

This is really interesting, and all I can offer is my experience as a white female and *ahem older than most * applicant ( I also identify as LGBT but didn’t discuss this anywhere in my application as to me it wasn’t particularly relevant). I found that all the negativity and discouragement was way ...

Re: 2019 outcome from interviews at Exeter - any information?

Also not sure....no information from course staff or admin- suggestion from trainees and couple of candidates who had applied last year was maybe today maybe beginning of next week 🤷‍♀️. I would also like to know when to start obsessively checking!!
