Re: Research Officer - Civil Service

Make sure you explain in your application how you meet each of the criteria, and don't just say that you have something but say how you have demonstrated it, or what you do to achieve it, and that should help you with the AP applications. Sounds like obvious advice, but I've read so many applicatio...

Re: Research Officer - Civil Service

I would take the RO job. Remember, not all CPs work in mental health and it's a myth that only mental health experience is relevant when applying for the doctorate. Research experience, however, is VERY valuable when applying. The RO position gives you health experience, research experience and pay...

Research Officer - Civil Service

Hi all, I've recently been offered a job with Office for National Statistics as a research officer and it sounds like a really interesting role, although it's very research and stats based, and it's health related research but not really mental health related. However, I also have been offered a job...

Re: Research Assistant Interview

I'm just about to advertise for a (six month) RA, and then for another one (two years) in about December, then another shortly after that (also 2 year post) (three posts), so I'm very much thinking about RA interview questions now - one is definitely going to be to find out whether the applicant ha...

Re: Research Assistant Interview

I'd want to know what (if any) research training you have had, including thinking about what you got from your undergrad re research methodology. I'd ask about your experience as an RA, including seeing if you can find examples of non RA posts in which you have been involved in any research (clinic...

Research Assistant Interview

Hi all, I have an interview coming up for an RA job, involving developing an intervention for anxiety. I have never interviewed for an RA job before so I just wondered if there is any difference in how I should prepare compared to, say, a HCA/AP type job? Not sure if anyone has any advice for what o...

Re: UCL PWP applications

I just checked my portico status and was sadly unsuccessful. Will try for the next intake I suppose Good luck to the rest of you! How do you check you status? I can only view my application but there is no status on the side 🤔 I have to click “view previous actions” in order to go to my application...

Thanks everyone but unsuccessful at both. Want to stay up north and have more interviews coming up. Best of luck all.
Ah that's a shame, but you did well to have come close enough to be on reserve! good luck with your other interviews

Re: UCL PWP applications

Really sorry to hear that, I would speak to ucl too if you don’t hear anymore because sometimes you will be interviewed by a service that wasn’t one of your preferences if another service in London liked your application just curious, suuzee - did you find out quite late on in the day? Yes, my emai...

Re: UCL PWP applications

I emailed Hounslow directly and found out I was unsuccessful. This was the email I got, Thank you for taking an interest in the Hounslow IAPT service. The shortlisting was very competitive this time round. You had made the second shortlist but have not been shortlisted for interview on this occasio...

Re: UCL PWP applications

It's worth noting from looking at previous years chat on this forum, my app status change may not be a good thing... If that's the case I will reapply during the next intake To be fair I haven’t really looked much at last years. Are you saying in the past if the status has changed to what yours has...
