Re: 2013 App disaster

Hello Aisha don't give up! You are young and you have achieved so much already. Please try not to compare yourself negatively with others just because you feel older or different because of your life experience. If DClinPsy is the right career path for you, keep fighting and don't give up. Reading p...

Re: Problems with uploading documents

Thank you so much! I didn't realize there was 1mb size limit for uploading files. I just reduced the size of PDF and uploaded transcript without problem. Thank you! :D

Problems with uploading documents

I keep having problems with uploading my transcript to my online application. Does anyone else have similar problems? How to resolve it? I searched the forum and did not find any discussion about this problem this year. I am now thinking about posting my transcript to Clearing House tomorrow, instea...

Re: Applying with Aspergers Syndrome

I am very encouraged reading this discussion thread, as I got my formal AS diagnosis only last year, being 41 and I am applying to DClinPsy training this year. I went for interview once already few years ago, but did not get a place at that time. And I used to work as Child Psychologist in different...

Re: Doing Clinical Psychology with Asperger Syndrome Diagnos

I found this thread (and link to previous one on same topic) only now and it's so very helpful to read ... I got my formal AS diagnosis only last year (being just over 40 years old) and having diagnosis really helped me to understand myself better. I used to work as child psychologist in another cou...

Hi I would just suggest to apply for Career Development Loan rather sooner than later to find out, whether you have chance to get it. I think it might be more difficult to get this loan if you already repaying some other loans. But you could phone them and ask about it. It's good to be prepared, inf...

Thank you, Miriam! Your reply surprises me, as I thought it would be a bit tricky to ask for reference someone, who might be actually choosing students for their course, as she is managing director of the unit... I need to practice some more divergent thinking and find the way to ask her... I was th...

I am currently reading Clinical Psychology in Practice, by Helen Beinart and there is very informative chapter 24 on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder following Childbirth and Pregnancy Loss. The chapther is followed by detailed reference list, so that could be helpful for you. NICE guidelines could be...

Hi BlueCat, thank you for your response. I was - and I am aware - that my question is a puzzler. It has been slightly discouraging yesterday to see that my post was read about 150 times but no reply came... but I have to admit, I often read posts and don't reply to them, when I feel that question is...

Thank you Miriam and w013 for your explanation of NHS experience, it has been really inspiring and very helpful for me today. In that context. So, I think the NHS commitment and experience part of the expectations is particularly relevant for non-native applicants, and is one of the reasons that it ...
