Well that’s that. Not sure I’m putting myself through this process again. We’ll see!

I have an awful feeling it’s going to be four rejections this year

Gutted for the Surrey rejection as I interviewed there last year and am very unlikely to get interviews on the form alone!

Re: Screening test results

From my experience you don’t ususlly get any kind of results / feedback; I think this is mostly because there’s no such thing as a ‘pass / fail’, but rather some kind of system to work out the top however many applicants instead so the results themselves wouldn’t really mean anything.

Re: Can I make it?

I would try really hard to set more realistic expectations for yourself and your family about the chances of getting straight on the course. If you are likely to feel like a failure this is not going to be a fun experience! I had realistically low expectations and am feeling rubbish enough as it is,...

Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread

I was debating as to whether I would even post as it's difficult, but I think it's important to acknowledge the rejections! I'm feeling like this whole process is like a game of snakes and ladders! Now I'm approaching 30 I'm wondering where to go now. Edinburgh UEA IOP Birmingham Congrats to all th...

Re: Moving to do DClinPsy

I do feel this needs addressing more to ensure that trainees are able to progress through the doctorate without sacrificing their entire lives. In one ClinPsy interview they basically said ‘this is the breadth of our placement catchments, you have to be able to get to all of them, it doesn’t matter ...

Re: Outsiders perspective for career help

Have you looked at IAPT and roles like PWP? There’s no reason if you did mental health nursing you couldn’t do training like CBT after qualifying

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

4. I’ve just watched After Life and would recommend it! Bit of an emotional roller coaster but I enjoyed it! 1.) I survived my doctorate interview today! A little frustrated with myself in some ways but overall I’m being kind to myself and think I did the best I could at the time 2.) My Brain is all...

Re: BA at Cambridge/MSci at Reading?

Does the masters convey GBC? If ClinPsy is your goal it needs that bit to me sounds like a great option with a guaranteed career whatever happens further down the line. Do you already have a different undergrad?

Re: 2019 Doctorate Application Progress thread

Some positive news! It’s my second application, had an interview at Birmingham last year: Surrey Royal Holloway UCL Oxford Just Royal Holloway to hear from now! Now that the waiting is over time to get prepping! Good luck everyone and sorry to anyone who didn’t get an interview this year - it can b...
