Hi

I'm just coming to the end of my training. I started the course at the age of 44 so I would say go for it!!

What is more of a worry is whether there will ba a job at the end of training things are pretty scarce out there so that might be something to think about.

Literature Review

Hi

I'm currently writing my literature review for my Clin Psy dissertation and someone mentioned there was a good article on writing a review on here but I can't seem to find it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Many Thanks

Blue cat stated that "The therapy assistant post would not be in the NHS".

Just wanted to point out that Broadmoor is a Hospital and run by West London Mental Health NHS Trust not the prison service. They have quite a big psychology team too!

The best advice I was given was to choose the best supervisor first and do your dissertation in their area. This worked really well for me and I was so relieved that I did not have the nightmare that some of my colleagues had with supervisors who were less than interested. My supervisor was interest...

I would echo Astra's comment. I was almost 40 before I realised what I wanted to do after years of doing accounting. However, I set about doing an undergrad and managed to get on to a clinical course this year. My children are teenagers now so much more able to manage but its been hard work juggling...

I have been deliberating whether to have a filofax or PDA and then I come across this thread ......... absolutely brilliant!! If you use a PDA I guess your diary entries can be kept on file easily - does this count or are you required to keep a hard copy too? Great thread but I still can't decide be...

I graduated this year and start clinical training this year so it is not impossible. At the moment only Southampton and Surrey encourage applications from undergrads. I did speak to the course director at Salomons and he felt that an application from an undergrad would be considered if the applicant...

I think it may be worth waiting to see where you are going to be based. When the placement preference form came through I remember reading that there were only a few placements actually in Southampton itself. It might be worth emailing Alison Gold or Fionnuala McKiernan - Placement Co-ordinators - t...
