Re: MSc Route to CP without degree in psychology
Hi, I have joined the forum with the view of obtaining some advice on a career-change into clinical psychology. My academic background isn’t exactly tailored for the traditional route into CP - I have a 2:1 degree in international relations, have served some time in the armed forces as an officer a...

Re: Paper Request - Arch Gen Psychiatry
I tried to find it as well but I wasn't successful. Sorry Elfiebluegoat wrote:Nope, sorry. I tried two log ins, no luck!

It's very strange that older research is still stuck behind a paywall. I am really looking forward to a time when research will be more readily available.

Thank you for the link! That looks like a very interesting course. Are you currently enrolled? What do you think about it so far?MissScarlett wrote:I might be a bit late on this but https://www.futurelearn.com/courses/men ... well-being

Re: Free online courses from universities across the world
Just wondering, with coursera etc., would you put them on your CV? It depends on the course and how big is your CV. If you are just starting out, having some nice certificates from good universities in interesting courses might be worth mentioning. If you already have a Masters or above, maybe not ...

Re: Dropping out/Quitting doctorate - does it happen?
Thanks everyone for your replies. There was a rumour one trainee dropped out of my university a few years back but it is not talked about openly so I'm unsure if having serious doubts during the course itself are common. I'm nearing the end of my first year as a trainee and my heart feels like it i...

Re: Dreams of becoming a psychologist
I guess my main questions at the moment are: 1) Would my poor A-levels count against me at this stage if I've since demonstrated my ability? 2) Will my experience of mental health issues be looked down on? Obviously I'm aware that I need to be well to pursue this path, but I feel that my experience...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications
After getting no interviews this year I thought I would post PhD at Sheffield :D Hey that's pretty awesome! Congratulations Hozc and graduateak! I think this probably deserves its own topic. It's great that you'll be starting your own journeys this fall. Who knows where they might lead? It...

Re: AP and other relevant posts you might not have spotted
Hi guys, does anyone know if NHS trusts hold interviews for AP posts over skype?cheers It depends on the trust, but it is very unlikely. I tried a couple of times and was always denied. However, research posts are more flexible in this regard, particular the ones in universities. Not all will agree ...

Re: Reserve Place for a Course
Blue86 and Sprinkles! I have accepted a place at Edinburgh and have hence withdrawn from the Glasgow reserve list. Maybe that will help a tiny bit---as we know, we DON'T know where on the list we are but I hope it helps you guys. Just one more thing- I was the most unlikely candidate, messed up one...
