Re: Edinburgh cohort 2014

Yep - me again. Am I right in thinking we sat the written test together? Unless you have the ability to morph :) I was just waiting with you and a few others before we faced the firing squad (and miraculously survived)! Oh and good idea about the facebook group, I'll try and add you. Thanks! Ok, gr...

Re: Edinburgh cohort 2014

Ok, so it turns out you need at least one friend to add to the group you are making. Since none of my friends are on the course, does someone mind adding me as a friend on Facebook? (just search Joshua Muggleton, there are only two of us, I'm the one who isn't in Australia). After that I should have...

Re: Edinburgh cohort 2014

Hi All

Since those on the reserve list are (in theory) confirming today, and we are all trying to put names to faces, would now be a good time to start a private Facebook group for the cohort? Happy to set it up if people are interested.

Re: Edinburgh cohort 2014

Congrats Victoria! Hi all, I was interviewed on the Wednesday morning - muggles I too remember you! I'm the (also relatively tall!) irish blonde, black skirt, white blouse and green scarf. We chatted during our hours break and you made me feel very calm about the role play :) Yes! I remember you. We...

Re: Edinburgh cohort 2014

What's everyones summer plans? i am tempted to take september off and go to a beach somewhere ... cant seem to shift this thought at all. Going off to a beach somewhere sounds like a fantastic idea - Do it! After the gruelling selection process, I think a holiday is definitely in order. Plus I'm gu...

Re: Edinburgh cohort 2014

Hi guys :) I was going to wait to reply on this thread until the end of next week (I'm not 100% where I'll be yet), but just to say I think I recognise your description muggles! Were you sitting outside on the benches for a while before it began?? (I was - chatting away on the phone - black skirt, ...

Re: Edinburgh cohort 2014

Hi! You're over the shock? I'm pretty sure it's still sinking in for me. I get over the shock, then I get distracted, remember, and I'm shocked all over again! I was Wednesday morning group. I was the guy in the blue shirt/tie, rather tall. I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone. Whe...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

This has been the most nerve wracking, things I've done. I honestly thought I was out for this year, but... Bath (14th) Glasgow IoP (non top-5) Edinburgh! Thank you everyone for all your support. Reading this forum (particularly when I had two low reserves and one rejection, with one interview to go...

Role Plays

Hi All I've seen a few people ask this question as an aside to a few threads, but I've yet to see any answers, so I'm asking here: Has anyone got any advice for preparing for role-plays as part of the clinical training assessment process? For me personally, having done one, I know this is a weak poi...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Thanks for the support and encouragement Blue 86 and Answeringbell, it is very much appreciated! I knew the process was going to be hard, but I didn't quite appreciate how hard, so hearing other peoples stories and encouragement really helps. You are right, things aren't so bad once you get out the ...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Bath Glasgow IoP Edinburgh Rather mixed feelings about Bath. I knew I messed up my clinical interview, so getting on the reserve list was more than I could have hoped for, but it's still really frustrating to be so close yet so far (and I don't know how close - the e-mail had "..." where they meant...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Below is an updated "scary list" of when people hear about interviews. Data for 2012 and 2011 were taken from Bubbly's list (New Clinical Doctorate Applications 2012-2013 thread, page 17). Data are based on when people have posted an update about a course they applied to on the 2013 applications thr...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Congrats to everyone who's got an interview so far! I just wondered... has any university said how many applicants they've had this year yet? I wonder if it's up/down/the same as last year. The letter from Edinburgh with their extra questions for shortlisting said they had 540 applicants this year,...
