Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

My update so far: Essex UCL Oxford Herts Delighted about Oxford but really hoping UCL will turn green. Doubtful though. Good luck everyone. Well done Cidane! I hope you celebrate tonight, it's a massive achievement to have come this far :) Can I just ask if UCL say in their letter what position on ...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Well as suspected, it's Oxford for me. Kind of knew it after not hearing last night, so I'd mentally prepared myself. Still ruddy disappointed though. Feel really uneasy knowing that there might be a UCL letter waiting for me at home as well. Really don't think I can face having to get two rejection...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Have only 2 people heard back from Oxford?! I know the 'No's will probably be coming tomorrow, but I was expecting to see more greens! Massive congratulations to Randall and Skadual :)

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Haven't heard from Oxford so I'm going to assume that it'll be a 'no' coming my way tomorrow :(

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Moony I've just checked with someone at home and there was no post from UCL for me either. I don't know if they would do it this way, but maybe the bags you saw were all the Nos and they haven't finished sorting out the Yes's and reserves and are waiting until that's done to send them all out? Or th...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

It was so nice to have a weekend off, think I might have delayed the repetitive strain injury from all the refreshing for a little while ;)

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Ditto UCL. Saw giant post bags of letters to applicants being shipped out today. Wait will be over soon! Argh!! Argh!! I heard yesterday that they were still short listing, I thought that I'd have a little while longer before being put out of my misery. Is anyone else feeling that they really want ...

Re: Oxford, Southampton, Warwick/Coventry

I've only applied to Oxford out of those and I haven't heard anything yet. Don't worry, as soon as people start hearing back from any courses at least someone will update the Progress Thread 2014 so you will be able to tell that way, but I suspect that you'll know anyway as they typically send all t...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

Just wanted to say a really big congratulations to all those with greens (and reserves!) and give a big virtual hug to all those that didn't get the result they wanted. I hope you're all looking after yourselves and doing something nice tonight :)

Re: No idea how to prepare for a clinical interview!

So a final advice - please do something for yourself in the days coming up to the interview. Talk to friends, take a nice bath, do whatever it is that relaxes you and connects you to the outside world instead of focusing on the competition. Completely, utterly agree with Blue on this! I happened to...

Re: No idea how to prepare for a clinical interview!

Having had an interview last year I'd say that refreshing your knowledge on the principle theories in each area would be a good thing, I.e child development theories, social theories etc. I didn't do this but instead had spent way too much time looking up different types of therapy within the specif...

Re: Reflections from shortlisting 2013

Just wondering if the mods could make all the grammar stuff into a separate post? Just to keep the thread a bit cleaner and focusing on reflections? :)

Re: Reflections from shortlisting 2013

I (and I'm sure lots of others) would love to hear from any of the other members who are involved in shortlisting about their experiences this year! It's so interesting hearing about what it's like from the other side :)

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2014 Applications

I'm slightly confused, are we not meant to wait to post until we've heard back from a course that we have either got an interview, on the reserve or been unsuccessful, I.e. When you can change the colour of at least one of your choices? Bluecat was that what you meant when you said So...a new guidel...

Re: Bangor - offers for interview 2014

Ah that's so exciting snailboots, congratulations! I haven't applied to Bangor but it's made me rather nervous that it's all actually starting, eek! Good luck everyone.

Mods does the progress thread open now people are getting interviews?
