Oh Geisha, I'm so sorry to hear that. Sending love to you and your family at an incredibly upsetting time.

4. I am looking at EMDR training - any insight from others who have done this training?
I've recently completed Part 3 of my EMDR training - it's pretty intense training but I am using the approach in my daily work.

Re: CAMHS Interview

Read up on the NHS 10 year plan as there's a section on child mental health. Think about a difficult situation you've worked with - there'll be lots of risk in a CAMHS Crisis team so they're likely to ask you about how you've managed a risky situation. Also think about your own resilience and what s...

Re: Online therapy or remote psychology jobs

Remember that clinical psychology isn't just about therapy as well, so if you only want to do therapy, then the breadth of clincial psychology training probably isn't relevant either.

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

You've reminded me of someone in my maths class in my final year of secondary school who kept showing off and was so cocky that he was the cleverest person ever and way smarter than me. He bet me £1 he'd beat me by a grade or more, and kept going on and on about it. Until the point he got a D and I...

Re: Experience/Application Advice

To reiterate all my posts on the subject, the expectations of different courses in terms of access to 'experience' vary hugely and start at none at all. People do not need clinical experience, postgraduate training, published papers, or experience in research to get a place on a DClinPsy. I'd look ...

Re: NHS Lease Cars - While Training

Do they mean permanent? Because you have a lease car for three years (or can buy yourself out of the contract early) so I would think it would be fine?

Re: Doldrums...ideas?

Hmm that's frustrating, particularly as you're already registered. I do know that some companies do telephone assessments for legal cases, screening for mental health conditions for insurance companies, but I'm not sure how long it would take to get set up doing that. There's also court work, capaci...
