I used a supervisor from my RA post this time around, as I thought that they'd be best placed to comment on my current academic abilities. Most courses were fine with this, but Trent sent me a letter in January asking for a ref from my undergrad degree. Maybe it's best to check with individual cours...

I confess I've been seduced by the 'what qualifications/exp did you have when you got on to training' thread. I do think threads like these have a place (with the caveat that it's not just a tick box exercise), as it makes people aware of the kind of different experiences that people can have befor...

Have a nice duvet day today - lots of nice food, bad TV, or cheesy films. And make sure you've got someone on hand in case you start to feel worse

Take care

I personally quite like the idea, and it seems to make sense now that most couples live together before marriage, therefore have
lots of house stuff. But I know that some 'older' people eg parents, see it as a bit cheeky in my experience.

I say go for it!

Yeah the Rosenberg is free - if you find for norms for this, can you let me know? We've used this at work, but don't know the norms.

I think when they go to her house, Lisa (Angelina Jolie) said it to her when she was shouting at her - before she then hangs herself the next day.

Why do you think that about the therapist? Interesting!

Was that Brittany Murphy's character? Wasn't she abused by her father?

I just think maybe courses should look a little deeper at how effectively potential CPs can develop a therapeutic relationship with a client rather than how much they know about a particular model or research method because these things can be learnt from a book! I agree a lot with this - I felt li...

In my area, people with undergrad psych degrees and Masters were told to apply for High Intensity, but I know of two people with those credentials who applied and didn't get interviews

I don't know why people assume a young trainee wouldn't have life experience. By that age, you could have experienced bereavement, marriage, having children, mental health issues in family or self, divorce, you may have older adults in your family with dementia etc. Most of us probably won't have ex...

There's a recent topic about working in sexual health and it made me think that it might be nice to have a Wiki about all the areas CPs/APs can work in, not sure if this exists already, I've had a quick browse. Also, maybe a topic where trainees/ others discuss or list their research topics. It'd be...
