Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2017 entry DClinPsy

For anyone who re-interviewed last week for Teesside - I thought I would share this. It turns out that they are now interviewing again on Tuesday. I am very disappointed by this because it seems they are now looking at people who weren't interviewed at all. So its gone from me being good enough to ...

Re: 5 things I'm thinking today. . .

1. It's my interview tomorrow and I'm so relieved it's here and almost over I am no longer nervous haha! 2. I found out my grandad is really ill and whilst it's not life threatening he isn't eating etc so it may well become life threatening. I am wondering how much is also being hidden from me beca...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2017 entry DClinPsy

Has anyone had a vague email from Edinburgh basically saying "we like you and we'll maybe be in touch". I'm not sure what to make of it  Is it because they're still waiting to confirm how many places they have? I believe that's why people have been told the 2nd June as a date to possibly find...

Re: I have social anxiety - could I be a clinical psychologi

Hi, I have a few thoughts on this that might help answer your question: - There are a lot of potentially anxiety provoking situations you encounter as a psychologist, including interviews for jobs with a few people on the panel, delivering groups to service users, meeting new people often, having to...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2017 entry DClinPsy

Wow Teesside really have a knack for doing things differently. This isn't the first time they've reinterviewed. Out of interest, do we know if their proposed scheme took off where they were offering 6 places to undergrads who did an unpaid voluntary assistant year with the Trust? I googled but there...

Re: Relationship woes

Congratulations on your place on training. I think the course can have a massive impact on relationships, even those that are pretty solid in the first place. I tried to do long distance when I started training, and after a few months, we decided to end it. The course was consuming more and more of ...

Re: Approved and Responsible Clinicians?

Hello, I know a little bit about this. The uptake nationally hasn't been great - my experience is that it's because there is still quite a bit of resistance from medical colleagues about non-medics taking these roles. There's also a real problem with payment - some Trusts have negotiated extra sessi...
