You say you don't live and work in the UK. Are you working as a psychologist now? Do you hope to come to the UK to work/live?

I wouldn't apply myself as I live a long, long way from there and not able to relocate but if these positions come up in the future, as someone with a non GBR degree, I would not be happy at being excluded and thinking of the people in my dept., we've got some good people with other backgrounds.

Link here http://www.jobs.nhs.uk/cgi-bin/vacdetails.cgi?selection=912497801 This shouldn't be just about keeping psyc grads happy. From chat with low intensities from around the country at the conference in Nottingham I learnt that most feel badly managed by people who have no idea what they really ...

Who actually runs/makes IAPT policy at the moment?

Today I saw an ad for a band 6 PWP position as a team co-ordinator on NHS jobs for a London PCT. An essential requirement was an upper second psychology degree and GBR. I was very surprised to see this as IAPT reports/presentations I have seen talk about the need to value "life experience" in the PW...

It's really unclear as to what will happen. The initial idea seems to have been that after 3 years they'd have a workforce trained up. They will not hang on to the majority of the low intensities though I think as mostly everyone I work with wants to go on to different things and finds the job overw...

As far as ethics, I believe the BABCP framework is used.

Google supervision in IAPT and you should get links to documents about how IAPT supervision, especially at step 2, differs significantly from traditional supervision.

Re: Triage time

My time is meant to be split 50/50 between assessment/triage and face to face sessions although in reality I send more time assessing and doing the follow up paper work than I do seeing clients. Our service seems to be introducing regular Blitz weeks where we focus only on assessments to get the wa...

Ours is similar apart from filtering out the obvious ones. Mind you, GP letters are not always obvious  Gateway workers are usually CPNs who sit inbetween IAPT and Secondary care, they'll either paper screen or appointment screen patients (phone or face to face). Then they divvy up the referra...

Thanks for the replies. By triage I mean a full up to one hour telephone interview and all the ensuing admin of writing up the call, referring on, writing to patient and G.P. All referrals are put through the LIs, even if it is obvious from the G.P. referral that this is going to be a step3 or there...

LIWs/PWPs - what percentage of your job is triages?

Hi all. Was just wondering generally how much time LIs spend doing triages in your service as compared to guided self-help, cCBT etc and if LIs have to triage all the referrals to the service regardless? In our service triage is the vast majority of what we're expected to do, not much opportunity fo...

According to Reach Out materials there should be video assessments (simulations) run by the uni as part of your course. There shouldn't be a need for live client recordings to pass the course, unless some unis have stipulated that, in which case they would have made it clear to you. However, for acc...
