Re: Birmingham Written Test

Ok fab. Shall we try to set a day/time where we can get as many of us included as possible. I am ok with most evenings or this weekend?? We could go through past papers for bham and go over any general questions/thoughts??

Re: Birmingham Written Test

Hi all

Just bumping this thread, would anyone be interested in a livechat to go through bham written tests/general screening practice papers? I missed last years and could do with the practice if anyone else feels they would also find it helpful?

Re: Staffordshire Selection Test 2018

Hi cberry18

Yes I was quite taken aback, I have avoided universities with this assessment and had I known it would be the case for staffs I would have selected an alternative course. I am not at this stage decided if i will be going ahead with it

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2017 entry DClinPsy

Why is it brave? I'm just not interested in doing the Doctorate anymore. Oh rapid, I have been meaning to send you a message as I came across your earlier posts on the 0 club thread some time ago. I am at work at the moment and want to spend a bit longer on my reply so will post again later or DM y...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2017 entry DClinPsy

3rd time applying: Salomons Essex Coventry [Withdrawn] East London [Withdrawn] Decided I can't be wasting my life with this anymore, there is so much out there to do. Also I can't be jumping between jobs on £20k going into my 30s, its so embarrassing and not a sustainable way to live. Another dream...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2017 entry DClinPsy

I do hope you don't mind me asking, have you got a academic screening test with Staffordshire? I'm not sure what the test entails, keep hearing different things... Hi hopeful The letter you should have received from Staffs states that it will involve a scenario with related questions testing your k...

Re: The Great Big Progress Thread for 2017 entry DClinPsy

So this feels strange - I have applied for the clinical psychology course I think three times over the previous 9 years, some years ago I posted that I had decided against clinical psychology and at that time it was definitely the right decision for me - so I have since had a dabble in other things,...

Re: MH Nursing training vs AP experience

Just from my own personal experience I would second the AP advice from Alex - a senior post especially there is no point going for if you have not worked as an AP already, now maybe someone could prove me wrong but I have went for senior AP posts before, got an interview, and then went to interview...

Re: Dont know if I should apply again?

Thanks for your reply ell, after much thought (much much thought) I have decided to call it a day with Clinical Psychology. I know in my heart that it is not for me. I thought about applying and how I would feel if I was offered a place...I realised it would not make me happy (quite the opposite) an...

Re: Dont know if I should apply again?

Thank you all for your responses. They were very helpful in enabling me to try to think more constructively about this particular situation. What is it that repels you from the profession? Is it something that may blow over (e.g. a supervisor you don't get on with or a challenging AP post) or someth...

Dont know if I should apply again?

Hi all I have applied for clinical training twice (one serious attempt); I have worked as a support worker, x3 AP posts in different specialties and additional voluntary experience. The last application process was very draining and I didnt particularly like any part of the process. I have been thin...
