Which masters and where?

So, after much thinking I finally applied for masters this year - I applied for two courses at different institutions and got both offers. My dilemma now is about which offer to accept - Forensic Psychology MSc at York or Health Psychology at Sussex? I know financially York would be better as I coul...

Re: Clincical Psychology Mres

I'm in a similar position - graduated with a 2:1 last year and since then been working as a healthcare assistant in a female prison. I applied to two courses and have offers from both - Health at Sussex and Forensic at York but I am also pondering whether I should be focusing more on getting an AP p...

Re: What do you think about relaxation techniques - for you?

I don't like it as I don't feel 'relaxed' after it yet I deliver these techniques and often get very positive feedback about how they have been helpful. I suppose the environment I work in somewhat influences the feedback.

Re: applying for a job when you have a job

I am quite lucky in the sense that I always have access to a computer working in a prison everything needs an audit trail  Although it is still frustrating when I rush to get my application in worrying that it might get taken off but then later see it is still there and thinking I could have p...

Re: Queries regarding procedures in a Forensic setting

Hi LittlePrincess, Try not to worry too much about your expected knowledge during the interview as you will be trained on the correct procedures for the possible situations you may find yourself in. It may vary from setting to setting as for example, in the prison I work in we are not allowed to res...

Re: next step after uni

I second the notion of getting more voluntary experience - I started my job 4 weeks after I graduated and I am convinced that despite my amazing grades :P it was my own experience in the voluntary roles that I reflected on during the interview that got me the job. I did have a list of organizations ...

Re: A day in the life of a healthcare assistant (inpatient).

I'm not sure if this is in the right section but I thought I'd to this from the view of a lead healthcare assistant working in restricted environment in a mental health team. 08.30 - 09.25: Paperwork on the patients that are to be seen in the morning - mainly checking for any alerts, anything on the...

Re: Creeping Fees

Thank you for the post. I wish I had read this last year because I went on to find work and whilst that has been in the aspect of gaining clinical experience, I am now facing a huge fee due to the changes as I have applied for masters. Also, because I have applied further afield, its the costs of li...
