ADHD and being a clinical psychologist

Post by Petetyerman »

I recently discover a trainee recently diagnosed with ADHD course who was referred by an employer to occupation health with the question that appears to ask if an adhd preclude the person from a grade 7 clinical Psychologist role.Has anyone else seen this sort of behaviour from clinical psychologists/managers

That's quite unsettling to hear... I don't have any experience with DClin training or supervisors, but I'm very familiar with NHS occupational health. I'd hope in this case occupational health would support and advocate for the trainee in question. ADHD shouldn't be a barrier to training.
And sometimes you meet yourself back where you started, but stronger.
