1. ooh it's been really long since i've posted on this! i almost forget how to do it :)
2. It WILL be a productive afternoon, replying to emails IS work. Working from home has been more difficult than expected but happy enough about the progress I have made.
3. half way through the doctorate and it now really feels like things are in full swing.
4. Grateful for the way my course is structured, feel like although it is a stressful period, i can stress on my own time which is making a difference.
5. Wonder what we will do this weekend. I feel bad that my dog has no household canine companion, perhaps a trip to a park where I can take her off lead and she can mingle, is in order.

1. Passed the grim oral exam on Monday (score!)
2. Trying to learn the craft of systematic review.
3. Feeling like giant round pregnant turtle. Can't do up shoe on right foot any more, as I can't reach it.
4. Starting to get tired now. Maybe it's time to review goals again.
5. Freezing here. Need to go and put heating on, but the time I allocated for lunch is up, and now I need to go start typing again right this very minute or I'll start procrastinating. Brrrrr.
Fail, fail again, fail better.

1. My neck hurts. Really hurts. I wonder if I can justify having a massage so soon after the expense of Christmas?
2. I cant believe that out of a full day of appointments, most of them have cancelled. There is only so much admin you can fill the time with.
3. In between the rain, it really is a beautiful, sunshiney day outside, and I really wish I could be outside in it enjoying a bit of daylight rather than clock watching and waiting to see who else will cancel today! At least I get to watch from the window.
4. Massively excited that we are very close to exchanging contracts on our first ever house together :-) and thinking now may be the ONLY time I will ever be able to afford a massage again once I start paying a mortgage, hmmmmm.
5. I really thought I would miss my uni/ study days once my PWP course has finished, but actually having a 5 day week at work and a calmer routine is actually quite enjoyable- not sure how long I will be holding that POV, but I shall enjoy it whilst it lasts!

1. I need to stop avoiding this essay
2. But it is soooo boring
3. Going to a restaurant tonight where they serve cocktails in jam jars!
4. Why are drinks more exciting out of a jam jar?

1. Feeling much better :) Thank goodness for penicillin. Pneumonia is horrible.
2. Will these editors accept my first batch of publications? Aspiring for minor corrections (oh no, not that outcome again!)
3. Finished the book chapter on my PhD topic :) Can't wait to see this chapter in print! Flattered to receive this invitation!
4. DHealthPsy stuff. Selected topics for my systematic review and thesis. Really love my physical health and mental health co-morbidity specialism :) Need to get cracking! Really enjoyed my MSc teaching last month :D
5. Feeling a bit apprehensive about starting my own six week health psychology psycho-educational groups next month. Bring it on :) Steep learning curve, but hopefully all good stuff for my behavioural intervention competency.

Yay for the weekend :)

1. Two years with the BF :D honestly hit the relationship jackpot with this guy, we are such a good fit.

2. He has this week off and came to visit me last night, was such a luxury to finish work and have him there instantly, and actually amazing the difference it made to my mental state being able to talk through my work day and my stresses with someone when I got home rather than returning to an empty flat. Something for the reflection journal.

3. Must make more use of the reflection journal!

4. (Sorry to rub it in Randall, but your post turned my mind that way) this tattoo has healed so easily, really really pleased with it...but can see myself regretting the money spent if there are any problems getting the car through MOT in a few weeks.

5. Holiday in one month, can't wait. Trying to remind myself that it isn't a massive luxury spend as Mum and Dad were kind enough to give me the money as a graduation present with strict instructions that it was for holiday. Guilt free holiday YAYYYYYYYYY

1. I wish I was going to that restaurant..... although I wonder if its more to do with the procrastination monster or if its actually to do with the jam jars.... :D
2. uuuhhhhhh, all over the place with this research, all-over-the-place...........
3. Really really hope the dentist has cheap ideas re fixing my molar... not in the mood for paying for an unexpected expense, when is anyone you say?
4. Enjoyed Spatch's novel, however now feel that sadness type feeling, you know that feeling when you finish a good book and the story is finished? (Again, procrastination monster just wants me to avoid research?? )
5. Paranormal activity 5? Stop, just stop making sequels. please.

1) Struggling to acclimatise to the sudden cold snap of weather we are having. I think that as it's stared to be fractionally lighter in the mornings my head has been in 'Spring' mode...the chill in the air has reminded me that it is still January after all!

2) Feeling excited to be house hunting for our first 'own' home...I'm desperate to put my own mark on a place decoratively after 10 years of landlord beige.

3) Really ought to focus some of my energy on research methods revision, but internet house hunting is much more fun (legitimate procrastination given point 2).

4) My throat feels scratchy, now is not a good time to be waylaid by germs.

5) Feeling pretty contended with my lot in life right now, and cautiously optimistic about what this coming year will bring.

5. Above is mostly all work related staff. Need to integrate some sort of work/life balance here. Taking a break this evening :) Looking forward to absorbing the sights and sounds of London town yay! :)

1.) I have been reading Winnie-the-Pooh and I don't understand why he isn't included in the NICE guidelines or something similar as an effective aid to cognitive restructuring. "'Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?' 'Supposing it didn't,' said Pooh after careful thought. Piglet was comforted by this."

2.) As planned, I spent my £30 worth of Christmas book tokens on a plentiful order of fiction and poetry. Not one research-related book on there! I can't wait for them to arrive so I can curl up by my radiator and have a nice book-binge.

3.) I don't even feel guilty for not saving them towards 'useful' books, as I finally got round to chasing up my Disabled Students' Allowance and they have given me an annual budget for relevant books! :D This is a huge relief, as our library is the most disability-unfriendly place in existence (personally I think the only creature who could actually get down those aisles is a Moray eel) and now I will be able to buy lots of things on Kindle.

4.) I am going to see some ballet with a friend next week. Really looking forward to it. I haven't seen him in a long time, and he's the only person I can go to the ballet with - no one else I know likes it. We also share a fondness for extremely spicy Indian food, so hopefully we can factor some of that into the evening as well.

5.) Also on a creative note, theatre workshop this weekend! I can't wait. It's ages since I've done any acting myself.

1. It is getting close to my favourite time of the week, 5pm on a Friday time to wind down!
2. But my dryathlon is still going so that glass of wine will have to wait another week.
3. Going to see the book of mormon tomorrow which I have been looking forward to for 4 months!
4. Feeling pleased about overhauling our outcomes measures spreadsheet. They work so efficiently if you use them right its just quite funny that people consider me an "excel expert" when really I just know what to type into google to get the right answer.
5. Need to make more physical lists, so many clients and different pieces of work going on I ought to write it all down!

1) How have I drunk a cup of coffee and an entire flask of the stuff already.....must take own advice that give to others and cut down, getting jittery!
2) I am so excited about my house warming party this weekend! Seeing all my friends who I haven't seen all in one place since I moved, is just... yey!!
3) 30 day shred hurts. That Jillian woman is mean, and my abs are killing today! Although at least the pain is letting me know I have some abs, hidden under my extra winter insulation :)
4) I only have a few patients today, so should really do something practical and organisational, like sorting out the mess that is my folders. However, I also have a good book in my bag and a couple of drops of coffee left in the flask...
5) Procrastination is fun.

1. Really enjoyed the Personal & Professional Development Day Miriam organised on Friday! Cannot strongly recommend it enough to others going through the application process. However...

2. Got into a car accident on the way home. Had to break suddenly on the motorway and a woman went straight into the back of a man, who went into the back of me! Luckily no significant damage to my (relatively cheap model of) car, just a few aches and pains the next day. Unfortunately, the woman's very expensive Audi looked like a complete write off and the mans equally expensive BMW was missing its rear bumper.

3. Cheered myself up by going out to dinner with the boyfriend...

4. Where I ate zebra, ostrich and crocodile. Yep. Really. And all were amazing!!!

5. Now have a slightly more socially acceptable lasagne in the oven, a pint of Ben and Jerry's cookie dough ice cream in the freezer. An Irvin Yalom book and a box of chai tea have completed my night :D
