Thanks for posting kfiller1, I've read the JD etc. but could you tell me some more about the role, like working hours, working conditions kind of thing. I work as a support worker at the moment and was wondering if it would be quite similar in terms of day-to-day tasks.

Strange that this one is on SHOW but it's for a job in the North East of England/Borders. Not AP but 'Mental Health Practitioner' - appears that the main qualities they are looking for are experience in community mental health and experience of working with veterans.

I did this job, it's really interesting as you get a lot of client contact, and loads of transferable skills and opportunities to develop :)

Assistant psychologist in Essex, listed on NHS jobs as 'Assistant Psychology' so may not come up in some searches!

Support Time and Recovery Worker (band 4) CAMHS home treatment team, Cambridgeshire/Peterborough: http://www.jobs.nhs.uk/cgi-bin/vacdetai ... =913283807
My old post: loved working in this team! No formal contact or supervision with Clinical Psychologists, but likely to come into contact with them in the community CAMHS teams and inpatient units. Lots of opportunities to work autonomously and good for learning about boundaries/attachment, particularly as this is short term work with young people (typically up to 12 weeks).

Message me if you have any questions.

Band 5 Psychology Assistant in Surrey, doesn't come up in the normal search. 30 hours a week.

Seems to be a lack of posts in the north of England currently. I hope saying that is tempting fate!!

Does it not come up in the normal search because it's internal? Surrey are known for recruiting all of their AP's internally, I know this because I live in Surrey!! But have to go to Berkshire for my AP posts

Oh I didn't know about internal advertising, just that the wording "psychology assistant" wouldn't show up if you searched "assistant psychologist"! I always search by terms in advert and refine by salary these days...

Hi,
I'm soon leaving my post of a research officer in a clinical trial (employer is university, but the job is based in an NHS setting), so it will be advertised in jobs.ac.uk (although not, unfortunately, on NHS jobs website). It's a trial of cog rehab for early dementia. Please pm me if you would like more details.
