An Assistant Psychologist is required for Daniel Yorath House, part of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, which provides residential rehabilitation for adults with an acquired brain injury.

The post involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team, under the supervision of clinical psychologists, conducting structured behavioural assessments and devising/implementing behavioural management programmes. The role also involves administration of neuropsychological assessments. A neurobehavioural model is followed with an emphasis on social rehabilitation.

Applicants are expected to hold a BPS approved degree in Psychology (upper second or first class) and be working towards gaining clinical training. Experience of working with behavioural difficulties or a background in behaviour management would be favourable, as would experience of neuropsychological assessment. The successful candidate would need to have excellent interpersonal and team working skills, be able to manage his / her own time, be self-motivated and flexible. A full driving licence is advantageous and the ability to meet the travel requirements of the position is essential.

Daniel Yorath House is a residential rehabilitation service providing assessment and rehabilitation for adults with acquired brain injury. There is a 19 bed main unit and Transitional Living Unit (TLU) and Transitional Support Unit (TSU). Developed and run by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, it provides a high quality service, using a neurobehavioural approach, to people with cognitive, physical and emotional and/or behavioural problems following an acquired brain injury.
