Assistant Psychologist, Mitcham

Post by EagleHouseGroup » Sat Oct 26, 2013 8:42 am

Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.15pm.

Eagle House Group is an independent provider of specialist day schools for children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Mitcham School is a co-educational day provision for pupils between the ages of 4 and 11, providing education for pupils who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder / Asperger’s Syndrome or social and communication difficulties.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic graduate psychologist who has one or more year’s experience, ideally in a school environment. Previous experience of autism and/or challenging behaviour is essential.

The successful candidate will join another Assistant Psychologist as part of our in-house Curriculum Access Team (C.A.Team), incorporating speech and language therapists and occupational therapists. The Assistant Psychologists receive regular supervision from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, who is also Head of Therapy.

As an Assistant Psychologist you would work closely with other members of the C.A.Team, parents and other professionals. The post holder will be required to carry out assessments, devise and implement behaviour support plans, monitor and report on student's behaviour and well being and contribute to in-service training. There are opportunities for individual and group therapeutic work with the young people and their families. We also encourage and support the development of research, which can be undertaken during the school holidays.

For an application pack, please email Michelle at michelle.weller-hawker@eaglehousegroup.co.uk.

Closing Date: Monday 11th Nov 2013
