IAPT Trainee High Intensity Therapist

KCA Mental Health Services have over 20 years experience of delivering primary care psychological therapies. We are accredited as an IAPT (Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies) service under the Any Qualified Provider system in Surrey. We are pleased to offer the following opportunities for Trainee High Intensity Therapist.

Full time 37.5 hours per week
Fixed term contract until completion of training
Established, supportive teams based across Surrey, with office hubs in Woking and Reigate
Associated with A High Cost of Living Allowance, paid in addition to the salary
Salary: £25,783 (Agenda for Change Band 6 increasing to Band 7 on successful completion of the training year)
High Intensity Therapists are trained to deliver Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to people experiencing moderate to moderately severe symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Study at postgraduate level two days per week for the PGDip Psychological Interventions (CBT) course (BABCP accredited) based at University of Surrey
Three days per week in service delivering CBT to clients from the local communities.
Excellent supervision with BABCP accredited CBT practitioners, along with reflective practice groups, and the opportunity to work flexible hours.
Applicants should have a core profession in mental health or social care, or meet the Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) competences endorsed by BABCP and the national IAPT team. Experience of working in a stepped care setting would be advantageous. Please see the BABCP website http://www.babcp.org for more information on Core Profession and KSA criteria.
