Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to Teach an MBCT Program

Post by FernwoodClinic »

Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Programme Teacher

New independent practice in South London has an exciting opportunity for a Mindfulness Practitioner / Clinical Psychologist / Counselling Psychologist to teach an evening MBCT programme.

Fernwood Clinic will offer one-to-one therapy and group workshops. We operate from locations in Balham (South London) and will generate referrals through a variety of channels, as well as encouraging self referrals through our market presence.

The first course is scheduled for Tuesday evenings 1st September-20th October 2015 7pm-9pm and Saturday 10th of October 10am-4pm. It is anticipated that this will be the first of an ongoing series of courses. The course will take place at The Bridge, Falcon Mews, 46 Oakmead Road, SW12 9SJ. The course is fully organised and managed by Fernwood Clinic, including all required materials, so that you can focus on doing what you love!

The role would be suitable either for a Mindfulness teacher with experience in leading MBCT programmes and specialist training or for a well-rounded, self-motivated Clinical / Counselling psychologist with interest in mindfulness and experience in engaging with groups (but without specific mindfulness teaching experience, although this would obviously be a plus).

If you are applying as a latter, we ask for the following attributes:

• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology
• Registered with HCPC as a clinical /counselling psychologist
• Will have been practising as a BPS Chartered member for at least 3 years

• Hold a reference from a regular supervisor who should be experienced, preferably an accredited supervisor (BPS Chartered Psychologist), to verify your training, experience and supervision levels

Salary is £50-£80 per hour (£1,100-£1,760 for the full course) depending on experience. This role is offered on a self employed basis but we can process your taxes for you via PAYE if preferred.

Please send your CV and a cover note to by the 15th of July 2015. Interviews will take place on an ongoing basis.
