Assistant Psychologist Vacancy- CCS Adoption
CCS Adoption & The Centre for Adoption Support & Education is a voluntary, independent and Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ registered adoption agency in the South West region, offering a comprehensive and holistic Adoption service for people in Bristol, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bath, Somerset and surrounding areas.
The Centre offers a range of core Adoption support services, including a specialist multidisciplinary Therapy Team providing clinical assessments and specialist therapeutic support services tailored to meet the ongoing needs of adoptive children and their families.
Our therapeutic model is based on theory, research and practice models within the complex trauma and attachment perspective. We integrate particular models including Theraplay®, Dan Hughes’ Dyadic Development Psychotherapy (DDP) and NVR (Non Violent Resistance). Throughout every aspect of our work, we will place the child at the centre of our thinking and therapeutic model. We aim to build and retain close and trusting relationships with parents and their network to achieve successful long-term therapeutic outcomes.
The young people we work with have often experienced significant early trauma, including neglect, exposure to domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, physical and sexual abuse. We work with adoptive families from all backgrounds, cultures and faiths. A lot of our work is funded through the Adoption Support Fund and Local Authority arrangements, although we can also accept private independent referrals. Any adopted child or young person can access our service as long as they are 21 or under.
